Pastor Jose Esquibel   (Th.G., B.S., M.R.Ed., M.Div. (Candidate),D.Min.)

I grew up in a military family where we moved about every 3 or 4 years.  When I was 14 years old my father was stationed at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii.  It was there that a young man knocked on my door and invited me to ride the bus to Sunday School at Lanakila Baptist Church in Waipahu, Hawaii.  A few weeks later, under the conviction of the Holy Spirit, I received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord.  I was baptized on Easter Sunday in 1975.  One year later I surrendered to be a missionary wherever the Lord wanted to use me.

During my time in Hawaii I attended Lanakila Baptist High School and worked as a janitor during my last two years to pay my tuition.  After graduation I spent the summer in Ponape, Micronesia where I worked with Isamo Welles, a local pastor.

I attended Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College and Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, where I graduated with a Th.G. and B.S.

After working with two fine pastors in Virginia and Missouri, I was call to pastor Bethany Baptist Church in Holton, Kansas for two years.  God then lead me to Lifeway Baptist Church in Ellettsville, Indiana.  It was at that time, the Lord started burdening me and my wife's heart for the people of England.  We arrived in England in 1998, where we ministered for 20 years.

In late summer of 2018, the Lord lead us back to Lanakila Baptist Church.  We look forward to see how the Lord is going to use us to see souls saved and Christians grow in their walk with Christ.
