The Way Of The Cross

The Word of God is plain.  The path to God is through Jesus, but many people miss the simplicity of the Gospel.  When the way to the cross is broken down to two steps the simplicity is made clear.

Step One:

The first step involves sin.  Sin is a barrier between man and God.  Isaiah 59:2 says, "But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear."  Man has vainly tried to scale this barrier through, religious rituals, clean living, and doing good deeds. Good works cannot scale the wall between God and man.  "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us,"  Titus 3:5a.

Step Two:

In God's perfect plan He provided a way through the wall.  That door leads through the sacrificial  death of Jesus Christ.  Why does God require people to go through the cross for salvation?  The answer is simple.  Salvation is free, but it is not cheap.  God gave His only begotten Son that people everywhere might be saved. He made it as easy as ABC.

Acknowledge that you are a sinner and that you cannot save yourself.

Believe that Christ died and rose again on the third day as a sacrifice for you.

Confess to God.  "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth and shalt believe in thine heart that God had raised him, from the dead, thou shalt be saved."  Romans 10:9

You see...if you cannot acknowledge that you are a sinner you CANNOT BE SAVED.  If you do not believe that Jesus died and rose again on the third day as your sacrifice, you CANNOT BE SAVED.  If you will not humble yourself and ask God to save CANNOT BE SAVED!  Today if you do not have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ...WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!
